INTRODUCTION TO THE COLLECTIVE KARMA OF HUMANITY
We discussed the karma earlier. In that post, we had discussed the existence of the collective karma for all kinds of groups of people. Every association of people in this world, from family to friend circles to society to country to the whole humanity, have their own karma. These collective groups are created and destroyed by humans too.
But their consequences & rewards are decided by their karma. Since the ages of recorded history many such groups of people were formed in the form of countries, states and groups. A lot has changed and is still changing in the ever dynamic world. It will continue to do so.
If you have already learnt about karma, we won’t spend time on discussing basics collective karma. This, is because, the rules & cycle of the collective karma stay same. We are going to discuss the interplay of the collective karma or the actions & outcomes, of humanity and its consequences handed by the Karma.
We will be limiting our discussion, just upon the actions & outcomes of humanity with reference to the environment, that too on the aspect of environmental pollution & its’ consequences. In the end, we believe, you will get to know the existence of the karma of the collective. You will also know that karma cares for all our actions, even if we don’t.
COLLECTIVE KARMA BY EXAMPLE
This is the image of a river during some festivities, filled with allegedly toxic froth.

This is a garbage dump from some part of a “developed” country in the world.

And, This is a Power Plant from a “developing” country in the world.

Unlimited images & videos can be shared to emphasize the problem but you must have guessed the underlying. We are going to talk about the pollution & its responsibility on all of us. Afterall, a single individual cannot be held responsible for what we just saw? We all would like to think that we care about ourselves and we care about the humanity. But is that really so?
You saw the pollution and the plastics and chemicals. You know what these are but still I’ll explain. It’s our karma (read actions). The Collective Karma of the mankind. We, humans all across the globe have contributed to this is some manner.
EXISTENCE OF COLLECTIVE KARMA & OUR ROLE
The humans in Europe and North America are maybe a bit more concerned, sophisticated, educated and could be more sensitive to their environment. So, they don’t pollute their own country. They are “richer” and “better educated” than the rest of the world. They sometimes ship their plastics & electronic waste and other wastes to poor countries of Asia and Africa for recycling. Rich and poor game at play. They can’t be blamed for that. It’s just trade. That garbage they ship maybe recycled or maybe just dumped. But, in any case, there was a demand from those countries where garbage was shipped. So, no foul there, right?
But we are not here to talk about countries. We are here to talk about humanity. So, let’s talk about the impact on our lives.
The micro and nano plastics in our water bodies, chemical compounds in air, and ultimately in our food have been created and developed by humans. We have to care about them because someday some day we cry and blame the life and karma, along with gods & hospitals and many other things, when someone we loved faces the consequences of some cancer like immunological disorder. We tend to blame others to avoid moral responsibility.
THE ROLE OF HUMANS OF ALL KINDS & WHO CARES?
The rich humans blame the poor ones for pollution. Educated humans blame the uneducated ones. Rich Countries blame poor countries. The poor ones don’t care. They have far more important things to care. Like what they have to eat tomorrow to survive. The rich don’t care too. They can buy organic food, pesticide free veggies and they breath air in their homes purified by Air Purifier embedded in their Air Conditioners.
Maybe the poor and ignorant people have done more in this pollution. They are ignorant. and poor. And because they are many more in population than the rich and educated. But the rich and the educated have contributed to this in the first place. So, they will share the karma equally with them.
The “educated” humans everywhere in the world researched on these plastics and chemicals to provide ‘cheaper’ and ‘better’ options to the world. They got big prizes and fame for that. They didn’t research on the health concerns then. Who spoils the mood in a party? Or maybe they did, but why would they care?
The “rich” humans everywhere in the world used these ‘new technologies’ for mass production in factories. To provide the poor and ignorant humans with easy chemicals and plastics at ‘cheaper’ price and for ‘better’ comfort of living. The poor & ignorant humans bought more and more. Why wouldn’t they? It was made for them and they paid the rich to buy them. They used them and threw them in the environment because they were cheap, and they themselves are “poor and ignorant”. They cannot afford recycling or education. The nexus has worked well for the rich and educated. Though a few in numbers. They got more wealth. The poor and ignorant were also happy. They got cheaper & better life.
That is why the descendants of the plastics and chemicals billionaire and the scientist who got prize for research on ‘new technology’ will also face the consequences of those cancer-like immunological disorders. They share this planet with the poor & ignorant and therefore, in spite of their wealth and knowledge cannot build a new earth. Though they may try to reach mars or some other distant planet, But they will face many challenges in their lifetime. Or maybe they know all about it, so probably they don’t care too. They’ve got high end cars and aircrafts to enjoy.
The poor ones can enjoy millions of videos on Tik-Tok and Instagram of people flaunting & flexing their bodies. Technology is far ‘cheaper’ and ‘better’ now for us to engage thoughtlessly, more than ever, so why should not they?
You may argue that we’ve got to live in the present. But that doesn’t mean not caring about future.
KARMA CARES
Whether we care for our action or not, there is something that will always care. Something is watching our actions, judging it and is already handing out punishments in a collective manner. Without discrimination between rich & poor or educated & ignorant. That something is the karma for us. That’s the collective Karma of the humanity, and Karma of Humanity will always care.
The Karma is already taking corrective actions. Ever increasing cases of cancer and immune based diseases, reducing fertility of humans, early menopause, low sperm count, poor quality of gametes, plastics in blood, global warming and what not. The list goes on and on. That’s why we have more, and we need more than ever specialized hospitals, fertility and IVF clinics and “new technologies” to cope with the changes in the world. These were not there when the boomers were born after the world wars. The world didn’t need these technologies then but now needs them more than ever. And probably will need them more in future.
We may shy from taking responsibility as a group of humans, and indulge ourselves in enjoying what we have, but the karma is just silently observing and doing what it should. Just like we don’t see it happening now, we don’t realize it in our personal lives too. We reach at it only when we are handed with some negative reinforcement and forget it afterwards.
And that’s the collective karma of Humanity for all of us. Have a great day & may the Karma bestow upon you a great life.
